St George died as a brave Martyr of the Church, little is known about St George. His feast day is celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church on April 23rd, and used to be an important feast day during the renaissance periods.
St George is a journey finder of God's truth, and a fighter against wickedness and temptation. He was one of the Roman Emperor Diocletian favourite soldiers. Diocletian put to death many Christians; George was a brave Christian, a real soldier of Christ. He went to Diocletian with out fear and told him off for doing so.
Then he gave up his position in the Roman army. For this he was tortured in many terrible ways and finally beheaded in 304AD.
He was the inspiration for other Christians soldiers he inspired them in their faith and gave them confidence.
He is patron of England and Catalonia, the cross of St George is upon the English flag. He is also patron of soldiers, Lebanon, Georgia, Germany, Greece, horsemen, Knights, Lithuania, Malta, Moscow, Palestinian Christians, Portugal, Skin diseases and Venice etc...
He is represented with armour, a horse, a dragon, and a buckler.
The STORY of him killing a dragon: he rode into town, hearing the dragon was about to eat a princes, he rode across the dragon which has killed many people, and killed it with a single strike, he received a reward which he gave to the poor and rode off.
